Appointment of Neutral Arbitrators – The current practice of a Rule to Show Cause returnable to Miscellaneous Court (or Motions Court with both lawyers present) to select a neutral arbitrator is under review by the Hon. Hugh F. Mundy, Civil Court Administrator, who will make recommendations.

Court Personnel – Personnel matters were discussed and a plan of action agreed upon. Upon initial implementation, the action plan will be announced to the public. Future actions will also be announced to the public upon implementation.

Central Court - A public hearing will be conducted with (attached) notice to be advertised.

PUBLIC NOTICE:

The 11th Judicial District of Pennsylvania Court en banc will convene a public hearing to consider the feasibility and continued operation of Central Court.

Representatives of the Magisterial District Court, District Attorney and Public Defender’s offices, Central Court Administrator, the Luzerne County Chiefs of Police Association and the Pennsylvania State Police will be requested to have a representative appear and make statements on behalf of that entity. Written statements should be presented prior to the remarks in written format and verbal presentation should not exceed five (5) minutes. All representatives should be prepared to answer questions from members of the court en banc.
The hearing will be conducted in Courtroom 4 of the Luzerne County Court House, third floor, 200 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, the 24th day of February, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
